The 2019 Alaska Cross Content Conference is coming to Anchorage on October 25th, 26th, and 27th, 2019. It kicks off at West High School at 1 pm on the 25th after the half-day ASD inservice with a Microsoft sponsored keynote by Michael Soskil, co-author of “Teaching in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” a Global Teacher Prize Top Ten Finalist and 2017-2018 Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year. Michael will also being hosting breakouts Friday and Saturday.
That afternoon will be filled with breakout sessions featuring both national and Alaska educators and experts. The growing list can be found here. The full Saturday schedule starts in the morning with Alaska’s own climate expert Rick Thoman followed by national author Michael DiSpezio speaking on the brain and learning courtesy of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Both Rick and Michael will also be hosting breakout sessions.
Two amazing literacy speakers are featured on Saturday in Claire Landrigan and Katherine McKnight and both will be doing additional breakout sessions. The rest of the day is filled with presenters and education organization networking lunches from ASTA, ACTM, AFLA, and ASLA. The conference concludes on Sunday with an Authors’ Brunch, which is also open to the public. More about the brunch, including a list of confirmed authors, can be found here.
This is an incredible opportunity for Anchorage educators to grow together on a wide range of topics for all content areas and grade levels as well as network with other Alaska educators and national and local presenters and vendors.
