A message from a BOOK IT! Program Specialist:
As you and your colleagues plan for the 2020-21 school year, we understand there are many uncertainties. So we wanted you know that the BOOK IT! Program, which many of your educators may have relied on for the past 35 years, has added new options for K-6 grade teachers to inspire their students to read, no matter where the learning takes place. Not familiar with the BOOK IT! Program? You can find more information here.
Should online learning continue, BOOK IT! has a new digital program that allows teachers to set reading goals for their students, track progress and reward reading achievement all from an online portal/dashboard. When a teacher uses the dashboard to reward students for meeting their reading goals, parents immediately receive an email with their child’s reward – making it easy for parents to celebrate their students’ reading success at home.
We first launched BOOK IT! Digital in the 2019-20 school year. In the wake of school closures this past spring, we heard from many educators using this version of the program, noting that it was a helpful tool in their approach to e-learning.
Our traditional paper program is still available, and we invite teachers to enroll their classrooms and choose the program experience that works best for their classroom. The enrollment period for paper packets ends when all available paper materials have been allocated or on August 17, 2020. However, enrollment for the digital program never closes! Educators can click here to enroll today.
We hope this information might be useful for your network of educators as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Thank you for all you do to enable children to learn, and please take care.
