NEA-Alaska/Retired

Who we are...

We are NEA-Alaska/R members, and we are concerned about out future.  Our membership included retired certificated and classified employees from Alaska's K-12 public school system as well as "pre-tired" members who want to reap the benefits of "R" membership.

We "R" members are affected by pension benefit adjustments, reductions to Social Security benefits, and the rising costs of health care and Medicare.  Membership in a vital, dynamic organization is crucial to advancing our concerns and continuing our involvement in political debates that shape our educational and social policy.

Continue the commitment...

After all, you spent your lifetime deeply involved in education.  Your interest won't suddenly end when you retire.

  • You'll be kept informed through free publications once you retire — NEA-Alaska/Retired newsletter; NEA-AKtivist; NEA Today; This Active Life.
  • You'll remain part of the family, eligible to participate in NEA-Alaska at every level, running for office and attending conferences.
  • You'll be supporting Alaska's premier watchdog on retirement issues, shaping legislation that impacts retirees and dealing with TRS/PERS issues.
  • You'll also be adding your voice to NEA-Retired, which protects your retirement interests on the federal level.
