About Us

NEA-Alaska is a diverse organization of more than 13,000 teachers and other certificated staff, Education Support Professionals (ESPs), retired members, and students training to become teachers.

Certificated members, who make up approximately three-quarters of our membership, include teachers, school nurses, librarians, counselors, psychologists, physical and speech therapists and coaches. ESPs include school secretaries, custodians, classroom aides, cafeteria workers, maintenance workers and other support employees.

How to Join

NEA-Alaska membership is open to employees of Alaska public schools, retired Alaska educators, and college students studying to be teachers. If one of these categories includes you, we hope you'll join us soon. Please see the Building Rep or Site Rep at your school for an application form, or contact us at the nearest NEA-Alaska regional office.
