Will air in several communities across Alaska to extend reach of TV campaign.

NEA-Alaska is producing radio ads that will air in several communities strategically chosen to extend the reach of the "I am NEA-Alaska" TV campaign.   The 60-second spots echo and expand on the positive message of the TV ads:  "I believe every child can learn...," which makes connections with Alaskans based on shared beliefs.  The radio ads were recorded by an NEA production crew at the end of January during Delegate Assembly.

"Bringing up the crew during DA allowed us to record the voices of members from the communities where the ads will air," said NEA-Alaska President Barb Angaiak.  "The 'localizing' of our message is a critical element of our overall campaign.  Research shows that audiences respond more favorably to messages tailored specifically for their own community or region.  This was why we were region-specific in the television spots:  Southeast, Southcentral, Interior, and Rural.

"We are broadening our message on the radio to include education support professionals. We chose certified and ESP members in as many communities as possible to record the ads."  The radio ads begin their run in mid-February at the conclusion of the first flight of TV ads.
