About Us

Teachers and other certified educators make up approximately three-quaters of NEA-Alaska membership. This category includes teachers, school nurses, librarians, counselors, psychologists, physical and speech therapists, and coaches. Every day, Alaska's teachers and other certified educators help children gain the knowledge and skills they will need to become informed, contributing adults. They nurture and inspire children and help them learn essential skills such as critical thinking, conflict resolution, cooperation and problem solving -- skills that will help students throughout their lives.
