NEA-Alaska’s Spring Leadership Conference

Captain Cook Hotel - April 9-11, 2010

Cultivating the leaders of tomorrow 

Conference Goal:  To target members who are committed to taking or continuing
an active leadership role in their local for the 2010-2011 school year. Participants
will acquire personal and organizational leadership skills that they will use to
strengthen their local
.

The opening sessions on Friday, April 9 are scheduled from 4 - 6 pm; followed immediately with a group dinner and presentation from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.

The conference will conclude by 11:30 am on Sunday, April 11.  Please make travel plans accordingly.

Who Should Attend Leadership Conference

  • Members who have demonstrated interests in leadership roles
  • Experienced state and local leaders who want to build local and state capacity
  • Presidents who will serve for the 2010-2011 school year
  • Local association secretaries, public relations committee chairs as well as any tech-savvy members
  • Members who are experienced rights advocates and bargainers

Hotel Reservations

The conference will be held at the Captain Cook Hotel, 939 W. 5th Avenue. Special conference rate:  $99 single/double+tax. UAA Course Credit

UAA credit course will be offered in conjunction with NEA-Alaska's Leadership Conference.  Cost for 1 professional graduate credit:  $90.  Project due May 21, 2010.  Additional information will be posted to NEA-Alaska's website as it becomes available.
