NEA-Alaska statement on death at Chignik Lake of Candice Berner, itinerant special education teacher

"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Candice Berner.  We are hoping for speedy answers to the questions surrounding the cause of her death.  The loss of any teacher not only impacts colleagues and students, it also reverberates through entire communities.  Our thoughts are with the people of the Lake and Peninsula Borough School District."
