Returning Alaska to a Defined Benefit System: A Benefit for Alaskans and a Savings for the State

A White Paper produced by the Alaskan Public Pension Coalition lays out the evidence that
the new Defined Contribution 401(k)-type savings account does not address the unfunded liability

annotated, was produced to address questions from lawmakers and other state officials about
the fiscal impact of stripping new educators and other public employees of retirement security.  Click
