977.2 Miles, 8 Locals, 3 Days: The President’s Great Northern Road Trip

Setting out from Anchorage in her Volvo, NEA-Alaska President Barb Angaiak had three goals for her multi-day road trip:

  • Connecting with members where they live and work;
  • Listening to what they have to say about their profession and their union;
  • Letting members know that NEA-Alaska cares about every single member.

“I got to meet with members in Kenny Lake, Tok, Delta, Nenana, and Cantwell,” said President Angaiak. “The trip gave me a much better understanding of the challenges facing our members in these small road locals. I very much appreciate that they took the time to meet with me and discuss the issues that are important to them.”
